“The thing with photography is you need someone with an experienced eye. Fancy equipment is all well and good, but it is the eye for detail, for the publication, for the subject matter, the story, and the client that makes all the difference.
I have worked with Julian for ten years. For ten years I have fussed in the background, made bizarre suggestions, stood in front of the lights and generally got in the way. Julian is always calm, excited at the prospect of an interesting day. He makes me and the client laugh at the right times, whether we are shooting housekeepers or GMs, waiters or tins of jam.
The results speak for themselves – years of covers, adverts and advertorials. Fresh ideas are his currency and he has a wealth of them. And it’s always a fun day at work when Julian’s on board.”
